North Cobb Christian School Reviews

Just a heads up that although the school states it is non-denominational, the religious environment there is very different than what you may be comfortable with if you are from a Catholic or Episcopal background

Exceptional school focused on spiritual, personal and educational development of students. I rate this school 5 star

Very pleased with the academics, athletics, and curriculum at NCCS. Would not think of sending our kids elsewhere.

We could not be happier with North Cobb Christian School. The faculty and staff are outstanding!!! The expectations for the students are high which will certainly equip them in the future. We are thrilled to have a school that is academically excellent and Christ centerd!! We currently have two of our kids attending and we will be adding our third next year!! If anyone is considering a private Christian School look no further. This is by far the best!!!

Some of the teachers are excellent and some are awful. I agree with the previous comment thta the workload is way too hard. When we started at the school over 6 years ago, it was a great school. Something changed when the new headmaster came in. No way I can recommend this school to anyone, friend or foe. I regret that I even have to give one star.

I was not pleased with North Cobb Christian's school program. I believe the work load was too heavy and the students were given way too much work at home. I think the students should be allowed a study hall period and should not have to keep up with 8 classes.

Our experience with North Cobb Christian has been over all very positive. The school has provided an excellent acedemic program with a strong development of spiritual growth. One criticism would be that in recent years the emphasis on school logo dress codes to appeal to the elitists has gone a bit overboard.

North Cobb Christian is a valuable asset to the community of Cobb and the surrounding areas it serves. The 'family' atmosphere at the school is one like I have never experienced. The bond between the parents and teacher/admin. is reflected each and every day. They truly have a heart for the kids and achieving academic excellence. Dr. Coker has taken leadership to a new level and his vision for the school will continue to excel NCCS as an academic school of excellence offering language, fine art programs, and technology classes that no other school in the area can offer.

My daughter is entering her third yeat at NCCS and we couldn't be happier! Her teachers are very professional and challenge her in a positive, loving, Christian environment. Discipline is maintained and the kids know what is expected. I have enjoyed helping out with math mornings and reading centers in the classroom, as well as at special events. I never have to worry about her friends - all of the families I've come into contact with exhibit a strong faith. We're really excited about the new headmaster for 2005-06. My daughter will participate in the gifted program next year and the praise team, who sings at chapel each week. Spanish is being added back into the elementary curriculum. We're thrilled to have the North Atlanta School of the Arts as part of the high school. While other Christian schools are closer and/or cheaper, I can't imagine sending my children anywhere else.

NCCS is the most loving and caring school I think a child could go to. The teachers help you on everything and help you make good grades. My school offers orchestra, band and general music when you get into 4th grade. During class, the orchestra and band teachers give individual help to children who have specific needs. I love orchestra because the teacher loves to help me. It's a great school. Our school is from PreK to 12th grade. In 5th grade you start changing classes to prepare you for middle school. My school has awesome 5th grade teachers and offers study hall so you can finish your homework and prepare for a test. There is also an audition group led by Miss Johnson and Mrs. Motter called 'Aroma of Praise'. I love being in it! Everybody in the school is like a big family!

I have 3 children at North Cobb Christian and we have had a wonderful school experience for the last 5 years! We have had incredible teachers that truly care about our kids and really maintain a sweet Christian environment in the classroom. Yes, there have been some administration changes this year...and we are thrilled with the outcome and feel that God has put a great, Godly man as our new Head of School, and that our elementary Principal (formally our Assistant Principal) is perfect for her role. Parents are involved here, there are extracurricular activities and sports of all kinds, and band and orchestra are offered as early as 4th grade! We absolutely love North Cobb Christian, and you will, too. (and by the way...lunches are only silent for a few minutes, to encourage everyone to eat! After that, they have plenty of social time!)

Our family has been at NCCS for several years and we have been VERY pleased. The head of school did leave at the first of the 04/05 school year due to health issues; however we have an incredibly strong new head of school coming in to lead us into the 05/06 school year. Also, our highly capable elementary assistant principal (of several years) has become our elementary principal. The spiritual and academic integrity of NCCS has remained strong throughout the 7 years we have been at the school. There is a wide offering of programs and parental involvement is highly encouraged. The faculty and staff provide a high degree of professionalism and Christian values as they teach and guide our children. We highly recommend this school for those who are looking for a quality education along with a solid foundation for their children to impact their world for Christ.

Our child has been at this school for several years. There As far as the cafeteria, children are not allow to speak because some students have not been finishing there lunches. However, if the all the classes remain quiet then they may speak for the remaining minutes (10 mins I think). There is NOT a foreign language class for middle school as it states on the website. Also, the head of school and the elementary principal left during the school year. Unfortunately all and all, we have been disappointed in the chain of events that are occuring there.

I'm a junior at North Cobb Christian and while I love the education I get there, for it is incredible, I don't care for the administration. Our principal came in and changed everything we've always done, and he doesn't seem to be as strict on enforcing the more important rules while he stresses things like uniforms. Over all, the teachers are incredible, nice, and knowledgeable. From what I've seen, there aren't very many problems with drugs, alcohol, or other such things, though cliques can be a bit of a problem. All in all, the school is good.
