“Kennesaw Mountain is under new principal leadership in 2007. His firm but gentle manner has won over the staff, the students and parents. Approximately 90% of the student body is involved in some activity at school. No one could ever say that KMHS doesn't offer enough for their kids. My child struggled academically, but the availability of so many opportunities encouraged him to work harder in his core classes. The electives, as well as the extracurricular activities, are many. Our nephew from another state was stunned to see what KMHS offered its students. The school opens the door to parent involvement. Its philosophy encourages parents and community, along with staff and the students to help build this young school. (only 7 years old). Athletically, nearly every sport has been highly successful...reaching state playoffs or even state championships. The fine arts programs are nationally ranked/recognized. You can't go wrong enrolling in KMHS.”

“KMHS is extremely overcrowded. If youre looking for sports then this is the school. But beware, the coaches treat the kids very harshly. We have gone from one extreme to the next. Last years princepal did nothing and this one is going overboard. Education is what is most important, not sports programs.”

I see many of my peers struggling because they didn't have as firm a foundation as I got from KMHS and I'm glad I went to a high school that prepared me so well.”

“I'm a student at KMHS and overall it's a good school. The academics are good and for the most part so are the teachers. However,with the exception of Mrs. Gunderman, the administrators are unreasonable, very rude and incapable of admitting they make mistakes. But the good at KMHS far outweighs the bad.”

“I graduated from KMHS and I have to say that I wouldn't have gone to any other school in Cobb County. KMHS prepared me well for the college life I live today. The teachers expect the best from you and work with you to achieve it. The extracurricular activities are wonderful and numerous. The music and drama department are the best I know of. If you have a child interested in TV this is the best school. Their Video Production class is the best of its kind, with the best teacher and equipment. No matter what your child excells at (i.e.- soccer, math, history, music ect.) this school will work well for them. One day I hope my children can attend this school! - lesg”

“KMHS is a great High School. I have had 3 children attend there since they opened 5 years ago. The NJROTC program is a fantastic program with the best instructors and has been a great experience for all of my children. I feel my children are safe at this school due to the care and concern of the faculty and the parent involvement at the school.”

“I've been attending KMHS for almost three years now and enjoy everything about it. The band has now been #1 nationally, the art, music, and drama departments are excellent, and the academics in all subjects have a great group of teachers. The Magnet program along side the Academies of Information Technology, Finance, and Travel are all great reasons for students to want to come here and join some of the best evolving extracurricular activities as well as educational tracks to follow. The math department exceeds multivariable calculus and offers alternatives to students achieving a higher math class, while the science department gives a wide range of various studies, such as zoology, microbiology, anatomy, astronomy and others. The technology as well as technology classes in the school exceeds all others in the county. Literature and social sciences do not offer as many extra classes, their teachers are challenging, gifted, and helpful.”
